Vermont Tech's Center for Sustainable Practices
Integrating education, technology, sustainability and economic development
In 2007, Vermont Technical College established the Center for Sustainable Practices. The Center is dedicated to applying emerging green and sustainable technologies and practices in the areas of energy, buildings, agriculture, and land use. The Center accomplishes this mission by exploring and applying practices that promote sustainability, demostrating green technologies and practices to Vermonters, and helping them bring these solutions home. The Center partners with with Vermont businesses and government to grow the green economy while educating Vermonters about global resources and climate change.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
Help us build the future
Today, after three years of planning and growth, the Center for Sustainable Practices needs a place to house its programs, including offering students, businesses, and communities meaningful educational and training opportunities. The Allen House (pictured to the right) offers the Center this opportunity on the Randolph Center campus, and its rehabilitation will both embody and highlight what can be done to bring a beautiful historic structure into an energy efficient age.
